After 40 years in St. Augustine, Vicki Brown is well-versed not only in the immediate area but also in the surrounding areas of Hastings, Elton, and Crescent City. In fact, as an equestrian enthusiast, her specialty is large parcels. She says, “I specialize in horse properties. Because I’ve been in the NE area of Florida in the horse world, I have the inside scoop on horse ranches when they are initially going on the market. Additionally, I understand the nuances of the state’s comprehensive land-use plan as well as the county zoning laws.
Vicki’s grandfather was her greatest mentor and the reason she gravitated towards a career in real estate. He owned a 300-acre horse farm in Mandarin and was one of the original five that started the Burnett Park –Southside Saddle Club. She says, “My grandfather (Pop Carter) said only one thing that man can’t make, and God isn’t reproducing – land – and if you want horses, you have to have land.” And even though her grandfather passed before Vicki got her real estate license, it was one of his closest friends who financed her through the process of getting her Broker Associate’s License in 1986.
Vicki spent ten years working with Jim Watson and later Richmond American on the Heritage Park and Whisper Ridge subdivisions. She later moved on to run Terry Pacetti’s modular home division before settling into her current broker Century 21, where she has been for the last 13 years. It’s no secret that land is being snatched up quickly in the area. Vicki purchased 60 acres in the Crescent City Area. where her cattle ranch is, and still has four acres near Hwy 16. If you’re confused about land use laws and have a parcel in mind, give Vicki a call at Century 21. Her years of experience will guide you through the process seamlessly.
The property did not sell right away. Vicki stuck with us and had a good plan the entire time. She always had our best interest's in the forefront. She had numerous open houses and continued to work to find a buyer. I would recommend Vicki as an agent to our friends anytime. It was a tough market but Vicki always kept fighting and trying to find a buyer. We will always appreciate the hard work that she put in. She never quit. She put in the extra time to do what ever research was needed. We appreciate all that she did to make the sale happen.
